Role Profiles
Registrations Secretary
The role of Registrations Secretary is:
- To receive affiliations of every player before the league commences from each team and record the players full Name and England Netball Registration number against the team they are registered to. If there are any 2nd Affiliation players the players District League, Division and Team Name must be confirmed and confirmation of any players that are Regional or National Players including under 18 players.
- To receive the match sheet following the Wednesday league game by the deadline of Sunday by 7pm from the winning team and check the players recorded on the match sheet against the players registered to that team. The maximum number of teams registered to one team is currently (as of 2022) unlimited. The maximum number of players logged to one or more teams within a club is currently (as of 2022) 15 players.
- Where there are two or more teams attached to one club, players may play up and this should be ticked against the players name on the match sheet. However , unfortunately a tick can’t always be relied upon and so I must always check every name and check and find any players listed within the match sheet for ‘playing up ‘ and log the date against the players name. A player can only play up x 4 times for their club, on the 5th occasion they are registered to the team they ‘played up’ for. In this instance, although it is the teams responsibility to keep note of this, to help, as a just incase, I email the two team captains ( the team the players were originally registered to and the team the player is now registered to) to confirm the change of team the player is now registered to.
- It is very important for players insurance and obviously fairness of play that the match sheet is completed fully and correctly as it includes all the information necessary to log points for the match win; the date of the match, the two team names, the final score and every players names including any substitutions, and signatory of captains verifying the information is correct and umpires verifying the score and team names are correct.
- For any incorrect or incomplete information logged within the match sheet a point for every error is deducted to the winning team - so unfortunately errors can be costly. I always endeavour to initially email captains to advise of errors and ask them to please check the match sheet before it is sent to affiliations and results secretary to avoid penalties which is an initial warning, but thereafter penalty points kick in. There are also penalties if the match sheet is not received by the winning team by the deadline of Sunday by 7pm (please refer to WDNL rules)
